The Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs, remains committed to ensuring formal religious education in the country is delivered in a quality and effective manner to produce a knowledgeable, pious, and morally upright generation. Over five thousand new students began their Primary Four school session for religious schools nationwide. To welcome the new students, schools are implementing the 'Sekolahku, Ilmuku, Ugamaku, Keberkatanku' or SIUK Programme. Its goal is to raise awareness on the importance of religious education, aside from empowering Islamic and positive values among the students.

A delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs made working visits to several religious schools to take a closer look at the implementation of the said programme, 7th January afternoon. Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious made working visits to Dato Basir Religious School, and Lambak Kanan Religious School.
